The “Smart Grid” is a technology-enabled electrical grid that provides up-to-date information that will improve efficiency, reliability and sustainability of electricity services. Obvius manufactures two-way communication devices that gather data from meters and sensors in the field and distributes the information between network operation centers and facilities. A common smart grid application is demand response. Up-to-date information allows operators to make informed decisions on when to curtail or shift loads in order to avoid peak charges.
